Margaret Tusz-King executive director
Margaret is a founder of Open Sky. She worked as a pharmacist before pursuing graduate studies in Adult Education and Co-operative Business Management. She may be your first contact for inquiries, applications and information. Outside the office, Margaret can also be found supporting participants in their skills programming, especially related to new enterprise development.
Michelle Melanson, program coordinator
Michelle has university degrees in psychology and business. She and Margaret are both skilled in the University of North Carolina’s TEACCH approach to enabling skills development with autistic adults. Michelle also has ABA training and experience, and coordinates the Functional Skills Assessments that are unique to Open Sky.
Emilie McBride, farm coordinator
Emilie is the go-to person for all things on the farm, providing work and learning experiences for Open Sky participants. Her amazing skill at growing beautiful produce using sustainable farming practices means that the Open Sky program and community can enjoy fresh produce year-round. Not just skills, participants also receive therapeutic benefits through gardening and animal care.
